Shala Taylor, MA, LPC
Shala Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. Shala earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Arts in Teaching, both from Lindenwood University. She began working in the behavioral health field in 2012 as an adolescent substance abuse counselor. She then went on to manage a school-based therapy program for several years. Shala has an extensive history in education, training and development. Shala has developed and facilitated several trainings in the mental health and education arena. Shala has certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Neuro-sequential Model of Therapy (NMT) and Substance Abuse. Additionally, Shala is a licensure supervisor for those seeking professional counseling licensure.
Since mental health is not a one-size fits all approach and requires individualized treatment, a unique style of service is provided to meet each client’s specific needs. The goal is to facilitate each person toward reaching their wellness goals in a collaborative fashion. Jamese Walton, MA, PLPC
Jamese is a Provisionally Licensed Therapist with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling and Digital Communications from Lindenwood University. She has over 4 years of working in the mental health field, most of which has been providing services in a mental hospital, outpatient clinic, and school-based mental health programs. She has spent the last two years working in the field of Substance Abuse and holds the credential of a Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor II. She is passionate about breaking the negative stigma of mental health in the church and the black community. She enjoys helping adolescents, adults, and families navigate through the challenges and unexpected hardships of life. Jamese has a desire to help clients with a wide variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, divorce, transitions, single parenting, and family communication.
Jamese has an eclectic approach utilizing various faith-based, creative, and integrative modalities.
Taijuana Wells, BSW
With over 30 years of experience in the medical field, Taijuana Wells has joined the team as a counseling intern. Though Taijuana's primary focus is the aging senior population, her wealth of knowledge and life experiences make her an asset to anyone who is lucky enough to book a session with her. Taijuana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Missouri - St. Louis and will earn her Master of Arts in Counseling from Lindenwood University in May 2021.
Joshua Gilliam, BS
Joshua is a counseling intern with an anticipated graduation date of August 2021 with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lindenwood University. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Applied Management from Hickey College in 2013. Currently working at Lindenwood University, he has always had a passion for helping people through mental health issues. Being an adoptee, Joshua has realized the importance of counseling in the black community. He has always been passionate about working with adolescents, college age students, young adults, and couples. Joshua has always felt that couples are a neglected segment of the population in the black community especially when it comes to couples on their way to marriage. As a member of the Christian faith, Joshua wants to be another resource for Christians to be able to work out their life issues through faith related solutions.
Joshua currently holds a certification Youth Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health First Aid. Additionally, he is working toward a certification in Play Therapy.
